About me

Atmosphere, space and silence - whether the peace of a broad expanse of a field or an apple sitting on a white cloth - this is what I try to capture in my work.

Northern light and the pared back landscapes of the South Downs, the simple structures of field, boundary and wood are my inspiration. I paint in oils, capturing the experience of walking alone in the landscape in all weathers, feeling the bones of the land below my feet.

A graduate from The Art Academy in London, I originally studied geography at Manchester University and this interest in how landscapes form carries through into my work. I’m also a writer, with short stories published and a novel almost completed.
